I been a bad Mumper, just skimming and not posting a lot. So, to summarize: - think I’ll be starting a new job within the week. Bus stuff for a private company, but within the next few months, two good jobs in school districts are opening, and I’d jump in a heartbeat if I can get one of those (pension I’ve already put nine years into) - We have twin mourning doves! - my knee hurts. - nothing else, really. ---

I hate this new job. I am bored out of my mind. ☹ Getting the paperwork notarised tonight to begin the sign over of the house to the relo company. Bought a new washer it will be delivered Friday. House hunting next week. ---

BTW, lurved the video over on fbook. 😃 Ham has been delivered and funeral home visited to pay condolences. I reckon I’ve done my part. Poke roast with rice and green beans for dindin was good. Leftovers tomorrow night. I yanked some chickin boobs and thighs out of da freezer. I’m thinkin’ of makin’ 'em into chikin sallit to eat on for a couple days cause it’s just too hawt to cook. Made progress on the portfolio. Didn’t get more items up, but fixed the front page and finished resizing the images. It’s mostly cutting and pasting now, although I need to get my resume up. ---

Good morning! Been a bad mumper these days. Taking a page from **CatDude’s** playbook: 1. 2/3 of my eligible family is on summer vacation 2. My son leaves for the summer next week (He;s a life guard this year at his camp) 3. Hubby being on LI has been really hard, but we’re getting used to it. 4. I need a neck massage, stat. ---

Hurrah! It’s half-past week already. I am only at irk for a day and a half then we’re off to party in York for four days. It’s stormy here today, humid but doesn’t feel all that warm outside. I have just come back from lunch with Bridezilla and have successfully talked her out of divorce yet again. I woke up with a headache at 4am and should have popped some pills for it but didn’t, now I am regretting that decision since the headache hasn’t really gone, it’s subsided a bit now but I think the weather is not helping. 3hrs until hometime. ---

Dindin at **CatDude’s** place everybody! 😃 YUM!!! We found a buncha old CDs at irk on irk related stuff. So, spendin’ some time lookin’ through ‘em. One on Identiy Fraud and Theft looks promisin’ for some materials for presentations. I am actually findin’ that one interestin’. My lady from yestiddy should be here around ten so we can find her a prescription drug plan. Life is excitatin’ is it not! ---

No inundation by kittehs and puppehs yet, but SWMBO Is. Not. Happy. Tough shit. I had yet another bizarre dream last night. In this one, I was taking an industry tour as part of a large group. Other members included John, Paul, George, and Ringo, and Mick and Keith; all were in cognito but I recognized them all. I wound up pal-ing around with Ringo, and at one point asked him, “Do you think anyone else will recognize all 4 Beatles and half of the Rolling Stones are here?” There was also a subplot involving the featured industry having a daytime pet daycare for the use of the employees. On second thought, maybe that does not bode well for running bambilances in the near future. ---

Well, yesterday was unexpected. I got the email regarding Nana: Come as soon as you can. She’s been fighting pancreatic cancer for over a year and now it’s metastasized and she’s fading fast. I thought I had said everything that needed to be said, including goodbye, and I was never going back there again. I was wrong. I got there at the tail end of an episode. She was ecstatic to see me. She held on to me with all the strength she had left and we sat for hours. The only thing about her that hasn’t changed is her hands. She can’t talk much and isn’t very coherent, but she asked me if I remembered…oh, yes, I remembered. So I lied. I gritted my teeth and lied even though I thought I was going to scream, at the nurse for going on and on about the wonder that is The Family or at Nana for remembering a past that brought fond memories for only one of us. But I did it because it was the right thing to do. Because that’s the kind of person I want to be and because when I vowed I wasn’t going to be like them, I meant it. And it got easier as time passed, because she is dying and how could I not comfort a dying woman? My aunt arrived, and while Nana slept, she and I talked for hours. And this time, and because she asked, I told the truth. All the secrets that I’ve kept and the lies I told and the reasons I never come “home” anymore. She was occasionally shocked but never surprised. She talked too, about things that were necessary for her to say and me to hear. As I drove away that evening, I realized that 20 years of therapy finally paid off. Yesterday, I transcended my childhood. ---
