There’s a machine here in the news room that constantly makes these two sounds in concession. Everytime I hear them, I get the music from the old Adam West “Batman” stuck in my head. Not the theme, but the driving music. “Doooo doooo, doodoodoo doo doo doo doooo doooo” It’s annoying as all sin. That, and **Rock and Roll All Night** by KISS. ---

The one that sticks in my brain most, is Don McClean’s American Pie. All I have to hear is… “Did you write the book of love and do you have faith in god above? If the bible tells you so? Do you believe in Rock and Roll? Can music save your mortal soul? And can you teach me how to danaaaaaaance real slow?” Once in H.S. (see how long this song has pleagued me?) I began singing it to get it out, next thing I know, I’ve got the whole table of fellow stoners singing. You could hear us all over the cafeteria. Latter that day, my friend Tracey comes to me and cusses me out as the song was stuck in her head the rest of the school day. Which was cool by me, as it sure got the hell out of mine. Hums…Good mornin’ Ratt butt,…I like it! ---

Would any jury in this wonderful USA convict me for going utterly crackers at the fellow here at work who has been wandering around the cubicles vocalizing notes and singing _just two lines, over and over_ of Strangers in the Night. I like that song, when performed in total. By a professional. Or even an amateur with a nice singing voice. Who knows the words. But… “Dum De Dah Da Da…”!!! For **hours and hours!?!?** HELP! Ah. For these situations I have a musical enema - a mental emetic, as you might put it. But some say the cure is worse than the disease. Its “The girl from Ipanema” doo doo-do doo doooo doo-doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo-doo. Some find this wonderfully effective. Others say it is self-induced tinnitus. Your call. ---

Apparently, she’d get songs stuck in her head, and couldn’t resist singing her favorite lines. One day I teasingly asked her if she had “musical Tourette’s”… she thought that was hilarious, and apparently it made an impact on her, because she (nearly) stopped doing it. Once that happened, I started missing it – she did have a nice voice, and it was funny – so asked her to start again! (She did.) ---

Although the thread title initially made me a Kylie-hummer too, that song about the horses has made me start singing one of the world’s most unintentionally hilarious songs: ‘Cra-ZY Hors-ES’ by the Osmonds. When they tried to be all hard-rockin’ and stuff. ---

and what’s worse, me and my friends have this penchant for bad jokes??? And we were playing a game, and I was moving my guy up, i said “i’m moving my guy up”. wel all simultaneously started singing that, and we dont even like that style of music. we were singing it all night…please, get rid of this horror, someone start singing Afternoon Delight! 😃 ---

Is anyone else here familiar with Suzuki method violin? A very good friend (despite what follows) used to teach it, and she is directly responsible _The Wiggle Song_ getting stuck in my brain. To make matters worse, she talked me into buying what she calls “a wiggle seat”, a vibrating pad designed to fit into a car seat which is good for bad backs. Bob Dylan snuck into my brain a couple months ago. He alternated “The Barney” song with “Up Against The Wall, Redneck Mother” ad nauseum. Recently he has branched out and added “Quinn the Eskimo”. I must of been a real stinker in a previous life to deserve that. ---

I recently rewatched **Life of Brian** , and since then, have not been able to get ‘Always Look On the Bright Side of Life’ out of my head… it’s a great movie, and I love the song and all, but _enough_! 🙂 Another week of that and I’m gonna go crazy!
