The stoner dude appears to get killed, but instead he survives and saves the Final Girl. They break into the science compound and discover an entire menagerie of horror movie type monsters kept in glass cages. The two kids unleash ALL the monsters (including a mermaid), who kill off all the science / tech guys and soldiers. Stoner Dude & Final Girl descend into the deeper temple, where they meet Sigourney Weaver (doing an unbilled cameo), who informs them that they were meant to be sacrificial victims to appease the Old Gods. Unfortunately, the kids don’t go along with the plan and kill Weaver. They then share a doobie as the Old Gods erupt from their long rest to destroy the world. Backwoods inbred redneck zombie families are an entirely different type of monster from just plain old zombies. ---
