Ground squirrels are en masse killing and eating voles in California, demonstrating once again rodent’s inrodentity to rodent. It’s amazing how people turned their eyes when it was “just” squirrel-on-squirrel violence but now that voles are suffering, it’s suddenly so important. ---

That’s a tough looking squirrel. Ears nibbled to nubs, tail not so bushy, remains from its kill all over the face. Squirrels are also known to eat turtles. ---
