So… I think I just said yes to becoming a manager. I was correct in suspecting I was being pushed that way, and VP came and asked if I had time to talk this morning, and yup, I’m going to be a manager. Scared not-quite-sh\*tless. But apparently the head of Marketing (above VP) was pushing VP to get me to move up. So there’s confidence at all levels above me that I can do this. :dubious: So um… yay. I think. 😃 I’m hoping my experience is like yours **mmmmmmms**. I’ve been saying since I started here almost 5 years ago that I didn’t want to get into management. Then there’ve been a couple experiences in, seriously, the last 2 weeks that have made me go “Huh, maybe I could do that.” And it’s like management read my mind and jumped on the chance before I changed my mind. > [@FairyChatMom](#): > > We went to Famous Dave’s for supper - not my first choice, but I was outvoted. I’ve only been knitting for 4 years (no crocheting at all), and I often rip out projects a few times as I start. I also don’t usually use a pattern, so that might be the cause. But yes, it’s common. And way more common than having to undo large swaths of cross-stitch. OK, well I guess if I’m supposed to be taking on more responsibility at work I should, you know, do work. ---

I am beginning to wonder if I’ll ever catch up on sleep - I’m still exhausted from Competition weekend and I’m about to leave for a Mensa weekend. I thought I’d be able to relax next weekend but I last night I was asked to help out next Saturday with a fundraiser (Anyone want a raffle ticket for a chance at a $500/5 minute shopping dash through the Levittown NY Pathmark?) then the following weekend is another Mensa weekend. Maybe I’ll sleep in May . . . ---

Let the weekend begin! Ok it began at 1:15 p.m. I went by the sto’ and have been messin’ around da cave. In a little while I’ll go online and order pizza. So easy! I order, OYKW picks up. Oh and I made a sallit, so we now have a healthy dindin. **{{{LiLi and Gnat}}}** I sure hope things settle down for the little feller soon. ETA: First on four! ---

Woo hoo! I just got word that a project I’ve been working on is done! This is something the company’s been talking about doing for a decade, but I finally did something about it and it’s finished! My goals for the year are complete, with 29 days left in the year. My only reward is satisfaction for job well done, but then, that’s one of the reasons I’m job hunting. ---

I have one more report to run which will make my early part of the week next week a lot easier but I am waiting on a couple of people to update a couple of things before I can run it. Then it is quitting time here at **casa de ems**. **mr ems** is home and snoozing on the couch in the AC as it is 90 deg here today. LibbyCat is making a bed on the back of the couch that mr ems is snoozing on after I just extracted her from the front window blinds where she was stuck. Going to make a quick grocery store run and pick up some wine and a couple of bits of vegetation for next week as I leave on Sunday pretty much for the week to Tulsa then back for a night then Phoenix for 4 days then Houston for a ‘Meet the new boss’ meeting then back to Tulsa. We were going to go out for dinner tonight but mr ems had a large lunch out wiht work so looks like I am cooking something. No idea as to what that will be ---

Well, unravelling is a lot easier than picking out stitches. Today was payday. Today was also rent day which means we is all po’. But we’re slightly less po’ than last week so we went to Cheap & Fast Chinese Takeout for dinner. I am eating cashews. I usually hate cashews. Today I do not. \*\*{{{LiLi}}} {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Gnat}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}\*\* I hate needles. I will not eat them, however. ---

We went to the Evening Prayer service. It was Evening Prayer with Anglican Prayer Beads. I have a set and got OYKW a set when he was confirmed. I hardly ever use mine and he had really never used his beyond me showin’ him how, so it was an interesting and really good service of prayer and meditation. Or as OYKW put it, “another ‘weird things Episcopalians do’ experience.” He comes from a Methodist (Hi **taxi**!) background so the use of prayer beads is not sump’n he’s ever done even on an irregular basis. He wants some more meditations to use so Ima find him some on these here intratoobz. **Spaz** I find it comfortin’ to know you will not eat needles. 😃 ---

Oh, yeah, I forgot to chime in on the knitting thing. Yes…unraveling happens all the time. Sometimes because it’s not coming out like I’d imagined, sometimes because I messed something up… Continued good, stable-glucose thoughts for the **Lissars**. Went to the conservatory with nephew and hung out with butterflies. He got a kick out of handing little kids butterflies (he’s very good at persuading them to latch onto his finger). We hung around for over an hour. We also had pizza for lunch. He had a large assortment of meats on his half of the pizza. I had spinach, mushrooms and pine nuts. It was yum. I should go to sleep, since I have to get up fairly early. Hugs all. GT ---
