correct. OOh! The series could be about R2-D2! He never got his memory wiped, so he could be the silent (well, aside from booping) witness to the fall of the Republic and the growth of the Empire!

That could actually be a pretty good gimmick, but having it last for 100 episodes might get tiresome.
So far R2 HAS managed to be a party to a hell of a lot of important events in the last 40 years or so…maybe he’s a Danger Magnet?

I thought this scene was amusing because Darth Vader picks up a bit of a Scottish burr for ONLY that line of dialogue 😛
But yeah, Captain Antilles (commander of the Alderaanian corvette Tantine IV) and Commander Wedge Antilles (commander of Rogue Squadron, and a native of Corellia) are unrelated characters. Antilles seems to be the Star Wars version of Smith (with two unrelated people bearing the name, this makes it the most widespread name for unrelated people in the entire Star Wars universe 😃 )

I notice the article says the series won’t feature any of the _stars_ from the movies, but that doesn’t rule out new actors playing characters from the films.
When I first heard of this, people were saying it would center around Boba Fett, and his evolution into “the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy”. Now that’s a premise that could cover a lot of ground. One week you could have him hunting down stray Jedi for the Empire (watching ESB, I’ve always got the feeling that Fett and Vader have worked together before), next week he’s enforcing for Jabba, or tracking rebels, the possibilities are endless. Plus it would be no sweat to work in just about any character in the SW universe. It would be expected that he’d run into people like Vader, Han Solo, Tarkin and Bail Organa from time to time. That way you could do a little bit of backstory on the established characters without having to go too deeply into it, and then introduce new characters in other episodes.
But they’ll probably F it up anyway.
