I was watching a sappy Hallmark movie a few months ago. The male lead was drop-dead gorgeous. I have never seen such a beautiful man before. His name - Ryan Paevy (I think he’s a soap star too). I couldn’t stop staring at him. I told my husband that this guy doesn’t even look like a real person! My husband replied - you should be used to that, looking at me every day!!! We had a good laugh. My husband is a good looking guy but Ryan Paevy is on a whole other level. So now every time we see this actor, my husband says, “there I am”. Others: The Hemsworths Jason Mamoa Simon Baker Josh Holloway Ian Somerhalder Brad Pitt Zac Efron Ben Affleck The list goes on and on… I could have another list of actors that have died that would be a mile long. ---

I should also add Ioan Gruffudd to the list. He’d always struck me as a very handsome guy, from when I first saw him on the made-for-TV Horatio Hornblower films. Then, a few years ago, I was at a gaming/sci-fi convention at which he was one of the Guests of Honor. I went to meet him at one of his appearances, and as there was no one else waiting to meet him, got to talk to him for about 10 minutes. He was incredibly nice, as well as every bit as good-looking IRL. Yeah, he’s another crush. 😃 ---

However, there’s more to attractiveness than simple physical appeal. Back in ‘08 I saw an article in whicch the queen of Texas’ Maverick clan, which has ruled the Texas Democratic Party, and therefore Texas, for 170 years, complained about John McCain stealing the family name. I called her to thank her for her principled stand, and asked if she felt the same way about Jim Garner, TV’s Maverick. “Honey, Jim Garner can do anything he wants.” Indeed! ---

The young Tom Selleck, that was IT! But I’ll tell you another time my heart flipped over. In the movie _Much Ado About Nothing_ Denzel Washington’s character is discussing how to make Beatrice and Benedick fall back in love. He’s kind of frowning in concentration, then breaks out in this big grin, all his teeth showing, and he was transformed. I mean, he is a handsome guy, but that smile made me want to swoon. I found out later he’s precisely three days older than me, born 12/28/1954. ---
