Found: the Raymond Massie _Peter the Great_ book. Sorry about that. I borrowed it from my dad, who must have somehow gotten it from you. I’ll return it after I read it. How not to lose books: Mr. Merrily and I had a stamp made that said: Friends are harder to find than books, don’t make us lose both, return this to the Merrilys. It worked too well. We kept getting books back that we tried to give away! One came back 3 times! ---

Lost: two trolls, an idjit, and three (bleep)ing morons. Stolen from a PS shed in July of 2002. Also lost: A house key. Disappeared within my house a couple of weeks ago, may still be there. Found: Quite a few books, none of which are on Peter the Great. ---

Lost: One lovely early edition copy of one of my very favorite books, _Never Cry Wolf_, which I picked up for seven bucks at a used bookstore. Never seen another. Disappeared at some point within the last year. One well-loved wooden giraffe, some time in the late 80s. May be under a daisy bush. Disc one of the White Album, case including booklet and disc two is mysteriously still in the CD rack. One small anerythristic cornsnake, does not answer to her name, Eve. May be somewhere in East Davis, California, may also have been eaten by my roommate’s cat ☹ Found: One small unidentifiable metal object, possibly a widget, will not guarantee. Two copies of Metallica’s Black album, mysteriously appeared in my CD rack. I have never actually purchased a copy of this CD, but am happy they have found their way to me. May not return these. One empty Metallica _Load_ cd case. Again, inexplicably in my CD rack. Am beginning to think a Portal To HellTM exists therein. One Portal To HellTM ---

Holy Smokes! This is working better than I thought. **Governor Quinn** , I will send the key I found to you. You send one of your found books to **merrily** , who will send me _Peter the Great_. Everybody wins! I also lost, in early 1971, a small souvenier from Bermuda. It was a little hourglass with pink sand, some seashells and a seahorse encased in glass or resin or something. It was lost (stolen?) at a public elementary school in the Bronx, NY. ---

Lost: 1994 Broadway on Broadway T-shirt. I know I had one. Found: Two little, tiny plastic pumpkins found on November 1, 1995. 1907 nickel, 1940 dime, 1956 shilling, 1960 six pence. ---

However, I’m afraid that they’re a bit…perforated…now. I’ve got a lot of old keys, will send them along with the trolls, etc. I want the books in exchange. Lost: any lingering touch with reality that I may have had… Lost: one silver and turquoise and gold bracelet given to me by my foster brother in 1983. Lost somewhere around Ben Lomond High School auditorium. Lost: several Cds including Matchbox20, The Offspring and Joan Osborne ( probably stolen by babysitter) Found: a heck of a lot of leaves in my front yard Found: lots of books I dont remember buying… most of it science fiction which I hardly read any more… I have a hardback of _Peter the Great_ but I am not parting with it! Its one of the last things my Dad bought for me before he died. I will send out a nifty little book on the rise of the novel / pornography. ---

If they have holes in them, I don’t want them back. They tend not to cook as well when punctured. ---

Lost: One Straight Dope book. I don’t know which one, but I lost it either on a plane landing at the Baltimore/DC airport or at the airport itself. Sometime in the early 1990s. And I hadn’t finished it, darn it. I still wonder why you never see baby pigeons… Found: One great message board. 🙂 ---

Lost: opal earring in the shape of a daisy. Found: a note in a bottle on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay, in approximately 1983-84, from a gentleman in Negret a Saint-Claud, France. If you’re Mr. Chollet Regis, I’d love to hear from you. Of course, if you know him, or know where Negret a Saint-Claud is, I’d like to hear from you too. ---

Lost: my new blue jeans. They’re a size three, I think, with embroidered red flowers on the left hip and the right shin. I only wore them about three times, and then they disappered. Found: A silver and turquoise ring in my neighbor’s backyard. I gave it to my friend Erica because it didn’t fit me. ---

Lost: One Snoopy and the Red Baron single–somwhere around 1988. My mother swore for ten years that it was still in the house. Has since admitted that she was lying and has no idea what happened to it. Father may have thrown it out after the 10,000th playing. (hey I was ten) Found: One pewter crucifix, quite large, also circa 1988. No one in my family had ever seen it before, but there it was in my room. ---
