In a [thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/someone-went-ahead-and-called-their-book-the-straight-dope/1023285) about the guy who had the temerity to write a book titled “The Straight Dope” without being Cecil I suggested adding him to our Enemies List™. That got me thinking, who would be on it and in which order?. So, if only to start the ball rolling, my submission: The Straight Dope Message Board Enemies List™: 1. It was a riff on Homer Simpson’s enemies list where the very first entry is “Homer Simpson”, but yes, while we may be not our #1 enemy I think we should be on the list, if only to keep us on our toes… ---

There are a few woo-practitioners whose names seem to crop up a lot around here. Uri Geller was a common takedown target for a while. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same about [Jonathan Haidt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_foundations_theory) as I do, but he’s a PhD which is often trotted out as a “centrist” who says all sorts of flattering things about conservative psychology. It’s one example of a high-paying grift where pseudo-intellectuals sell conservatives’ own ideas back to them as some sort of forbidden knowledge or “scientifically proven” moral theory. ---
