I think not even having the slightest curiosity as to what one’s privates (even breasts!) look like (especially during puberty) is a serious mental issue in itself. Commitment? I’m not sure what authority could commit you for that. Does she need therapy? Definitely. ---

Not feeling like reading the whole naked-chick thread, did she mean her entire body at once, or even just parts, like her breasts or genitals like when showering, or wiping after taking a pee or whatever? ---

I mean, I guess I might have looked because it wasn’t a huge deal or something I myself was trying to avoid, but by the time I felt comfortable enough to use them, I was already sexually active, so I knew which hole to aim for. ---

No. Why - or rather - how would you? Unless you’re far more flexible that I was, you can’t really get an eyeful without the assistance of some mirrors and lighting. I followed the directions on the package and felt my way around with my hands. I think it’s odder that one never caught a glimpse in a mirror or while undressing than the wiping/menstrual thing. I’ve never seen my entire vulva\*, but I’ve seen the rest of me. (And, of course, I’ve seen my mons and the front edge of the labia majora in a full length mirror.) \*And I think we all know I have no hangups about female reproduction at this point! ---

Yeah, I don’t know either if the thread I was thinking of is “unspeakable”, but I don’t care. Hands down, the weirdest thread I’ve ever read on here, was about “wonderful lady Sperm”. I’ll try to dig up a link to it if I can find one, but no promises, I’ve tried before with no luck. ---

She’s seen her entire body (including her butt) except for her genitals and breasts. She said breasts don’t get very dirty, so she never had to look at them to wash them. She didn’t mention much about vaginal care, though she did say that she always trimmed her pubes with her underwear on. A few posts down, she stated that, at the urging of Dopers, she finally (albeit briefly) looked in the mirror after showering, said “Meh,” and got dressed. The thread isn’t as long as you’d expect it to be. I can maybe understand not looking at one’s breasts to wash them, but I would expect vaginal maintenance isn’t something you can do, well, blindly. Hell, wouldn’t basic curiosity get the best of you after a few years? While the OP was weird, I think much of the weirdness also comes from the way Dopers reacted. Not the usual well-researched discourse we’ve gotten used to on the SDMB, in my opinion. ---

I mean, I wash it off (I use soap for the other parts but not in the vagina) with warm water, but that’s about it, unless I think I have some kind of infection. I did look at my vagina with a mirror for the first time when I was 19 because I was curious, had started having intercourse, etc…it definitely looked weirder than I had expected. No unicorns at all! ---

Oh my god. The Dope (and this thread) is officially taking over my brain. Last night I DREAMT ABOUT THE #$@%ing DORRANCE 7X\* STAINLESS STEEL HOOKS. If you are curious, I dreamt that my brother had been in an accident and had his hands replaced with said hooks. My mother also revealed that she had a hook in place of a leg (yes, a hook leg, not even Captain Hook is that hardcore), and I had strange plasticky prosthetic hands and was pleased to discover that I could still play the piano. ---

(Or, she could have just said, “None of your damned business” rather than go into it in the first place) In the second, the obvious thing was- **lee** passed out and came to, was still basically out of it, and started fighting the guards who were lifting her up. They tried to restrain her (as you would any patient who’s struggling), and she mistook that for being attacked. _sigh_ BTW, **lee** , I’m not trying to insult you here, but you do have a way of being waaaaaaay over-dramatic and taking offense where none is intended. ---
