BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
No tie whatsoever to Citizens United.
A unanimous Supreme Court overturned the conviction. Hard to argue this is a partisan attempt to legalize bribery when every single justice voted the same way.
Despite the patient attempts by me and Richard Parker to educate you, and to point out the likelihood that if he and I agreed, the underlying principle was unlikely to be grounded in partisan bias, you remained unmoved.
So what are you saying now? That despite posting an OP which was wrong in its understanding of the legal issues and showed a complete lack of comprehension of both the case law and the statutes involved, it’s OK, because you’re Proud Not To Be A Lawyer and Stuff?
Look, if you had started a thread that said, “I don’t know or care about the legal aspects, but McDonnell’s actions were tawdry and shameful,” I would have agreed, and I still do.
But you didn’t. You started a thread that commented on the legal aspects of the case, your analysis was weak then and demonstrably wrong now, and now you want to rewrite the narrative as your brave stand against Evil Lawyers and their corrupt Laws.
Sadly for this effort, the OP cannot be edited by you.
