# The Surreal Life

We may have a new winner in the over-the-top “reality” show genre. The Surreal Life ( I think the WB is responsible for this latest abomination) involves a bunch of washed up has been celebrities trying to revive their careers (the only ones I remember are Corey Feldman, Gary Coleman, and Gabrielle Carteris) living in a mansion somewhere _a la_ The Real World . One preview shows them sitting around a big campfire with Corey pontificating on something while Gary Coleman watches him with a confused look on his face.

This could be more horrific than Anna Nicole and I can’t wait. Now if only Fox would tape Temptation Island III . . .

This show was inspired by commericals for Lipton Sizzle 'n Stir™ featuring unlikely families, such as Mr. T, Loni Anderson, and Little Richard, IIRC.

Aww, come on, this the first half-way interesting idea for a reality show that they’re ever come up with! I love those Lipton commericals, though, so my tastes are obviously flawed. I probably won’t end up watching this show (I’ve only watched a grand total of 1.5 episodes of _any_ reality show) but I might try an episode.
