Actually, [shrugs](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrug_(clothing)) can be pretty comfortable. I have a couple for when my apartment is a bit cold but I don’t want to wear a sweater - keeps your arms warm.

Well sure, if you are trying to rock the [Jim Tressel look](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/47/Ohio_State_Coach_Jim_Tressel_with_his_team.jpg/800px-Ohio_State_Coach_Jim_Tressel_with_his_team.jpg) you might as well spray yourself with girl repellent. But a cool pair of jeans, a clean t-shirt with a sweater vest over it, etc., can work…
And yeah, girls in sweater vests - hmmmmboy. With a newsboy cap and glasses? Hummina hummina.

I wish they made crew-neck sweater vests.
Don’t like the v-neck but it’s the only option as far as I can tell.

Sweater vests are tricky things. Ferris Bueller looked cool in one, but I don’t think that I can.

I did like that sweater vest–and I loved wearing the ties. I had several, IMS. I haven’t thought about any of this in 20 years. And I might just get that J Crew vest. Thanks!
**Waenara** –I was picturing essentially two leg warmers on someone’s arms–not connected at all. Shrugs can be tricky to wear, IMO. But they do look comfy!

I’ll wear those zip-up sleeveless fleece numbers with the tube collars, but V-neck pullover sweater vests? I think the “V” isn’t to describe it’s pattern; it stands for “vasectomey,” as in “this outfit makes it obvious I’ve had one.”

I was thinking more of Elizabeth Hurley in a sweater vest…with her hair up and with black plastic rimmed glasses…I’ll be in my bunk.

Might look stupid, but it might be comfortable. Many times, I’ve been too warm to put a sweat shirt on, but too cold for just a T-Shrit and found myself sitting at my desk with my arms in the sweatshirt, but not wearing it. Does that make sense? Like if you were about to put it on, you thread your arms though the sleeves, but you stop right before you flip it up and put your head in.
Then I found the long sleeved Tshirt, I loove those.

I liek teh vests because I have hairy monkey arms and can’t stand more than a couple pair of sleeves at a time. They also work well under my favorite outer garment, the [Type A-2](http://www.flightsuits.com/images/leather/a2_hist_horse_lg.jpg) flight jacket with knit cuffs and waistband.

This thread is timed perfectly, as I just happened to order [this](http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/product.do?cid=17898&pid=548033&scid=548033002) hot number yesterday, and had been jonesing to tell everyone on the internet. I haven’t worn one in YEARS so I’m excited about it coming.
