\*\*Bumba \*\*- almost as exciting as my phantom beep! šŸ˜ƒ Just talked to our critter sitter - heā€™s coming over on Sunday to see the setup, since itā€™s changed from the last time he was here. Hard to believe 2 weeks from today, weā€™ll be heading down I-95. Iā€™m not looking forward to being in Florida, but I am eager to see some old friends when we go back to Orange Park. Maybe weā€™ll even eat at Whiteyā€™s, the site of my cheap date with **swampy**! Off to knit the night awayā€¦ ---

Apparently all the stress of this week is getting even with me today. I have a show tomorrow and since itā€™s the first of the year Iā€™m not even close to ready. I was tired so I took a nap and now that Iā€™m awake again I feel about 10 times worse. Fortunately thereā€™s some work I can do while Iā€™m sitting on the couch. Hopefully by the time I get that done Iā€™ll feel better. If not Iā€™m not sure whatā€™s going to happen other than I suppose going to bed and getting up in the middle of the night to try again. Ugh. ---

{{{ **StickyBuns** }}} just cause it looks like you need a hug. Heh **MOOOOOOM** a friend is headinā€™ down to Jacksonville for bidness next week. I googled Whiteyā€™s and gave him directions. I told him he should order the scallops. šŸ˜ƒ Home from the church house and fish ā€˜n chips. ā€˜Twas fun. We were told to expect around 35 folks from the sign up sheet. We always plan for more. Good thing cause 50 folks showed up! We had enough food, so no crisis ensued. We had turned on the outdoor cookers and put oil in to start heatinā€™ up at five oā€™ clock then had us a beer. YP walked out there and saw us sittinā€™ on the patio with our beers. I told him we were engaged in that all important first step, the beerinā€™ of the cooks. šŸ˜ƒ ---

So, Dad has decided that one of us stole his wallet. Never mind that weā€™ re in the process of getting all of the IDs and documents replaced. Heā€™s announced that when weā€™re all home, heā€™s going to call the police. So, I suppose, heā€™s going to accuse one of us of stealing the wallet in the library with the chutzpah. ---

Nope. Everyone went to bed. Dadā€™s actually doing significantly better this evening. He spoke to me! He allowed me to take him out for a burger! Of course, he smelled like wine, and he was slurring his words, but hey, we canā€™t have everything. See you in the morning. ---

How funny - when you donā€™t work, weekends donā€™t have a lot of significance, and yet for some reason, today, I slept in! OK, it was just till 7, but after a week of interrupted nights, I pretty much made it all the way thru. Iā€™m guessing that doing manual labor yesterday had a little to do with it. From the looks of weather radar, weā€™re in a lull between storms - I really should get out there and move a few more plants right now. I really shouldā€¦ \*\*swampy \*\*- letā€™s hope their scallops are as good as they were 9 or 10 years ago (yoiks, is that how long itā€™s been??? :eek: ) Youā€™re way overdue to visit me again, hint hint šŸ˜‰ \*\*FCD \*\*talked about taking a drive to the fish store in Glen Burnie today. On the other hand, heā€™s got a new chain saw to play withā€¦ so who knows what the plans are. Nothing urgent HAS to be done, and we can wing it with the best of 'em! šŸ˜ƒ I just finished some leftover pizza for breakfast. Iā€™m ready to face the day! Happy Saturday! ---

It is going to 80 degs today so this mornings plan is to weed the flower bed in the front yard then a trip to Lowes to get mulch and potting mix and a few other bits. \*\*{{{{{Soapy}}}}} \*\*I am so sorry. I have a hair appointment in a couple of hours, then after that, itā€™s off to Lowes for fence boards, cinder blocks, and a long two by four. The cinder blocks are to partially bury along one section of the fence where the dogs got out and into the neighborā€™s yard yesterday. While the fence boards along that section arenā€™t torn up, Iā€™m afraid theyā€™d need to be replaced after we remove the board weā€™ve got holding the in place on this side of the fence. The fence is a weird design; it has a ā€œcap boardā€ running along the top, and at the very bottom is supposed be a two by four holding the fence boards in place. That board is supposed to be on the neighborā€™s side, but we discovered last year that it rotted out and thatā€™s how the dogs were initially getting over to the neighborā€™s yard. We tried telling the neighbor and that weā€™d buy a replacement two by four, but he didnā€™t believe us. A while later, we finally convinced him that board is supposed to exist, but he never replaced it. In the meantime, we did a crappy ass patching job on our side. The dogs would occasionally start digging there, but weā€™d catch them and fill in the hole again. Iā€™m sick of looking at the crappy job, and while the dogs have been good for a long time, yesterday was the final straw. Iā€™m sure my neighbor is pissed at us again. The funny thing is, his dog and our dogs were having a grand old time playing together until I managed to get Polar to come back through the fence to our side, and Brandi escaped from the neighborā€™s yard and made her bid for freedom. I finally got Brandi back with bribery and put both the dogs in the kennel while I spent three hours picking up dog poop, and sawing up and disposing of big branches that were storm debris. I still have a big pile of branches, but my yard waste bin is full, AND, itā€™s hard work hand sawing branches to break them down. Yes, they were and are that thick. Stupid fir tree on on the back neighborā€™s side, but they donā€™t do anything to help with the mess. Anyway, another busy day calls. ---
