[He died in 2015.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.B._King) I saw one of his last shows in Nashville at his club. ---

Damn. He was one of the great ones. I’ve seen him in concert many times, each time was a great night. Thanks, B.B. and hope Lucille is well. ETA: I probably mourned his passing back then as well. ---

It’s still sad to lose a great. > [@Why I Sing the Blues: B.B. King is in hospice](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/why-i-sing-the-blues-b-b-king-is-in-hospice/719062): > > Doleful (k)night for Kings. First we lost [Ben E. King](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=755848) and now news broke that [B.B. King is in hospice](http://www.bbking.com/2015/05/01/a-message-from-b-b-2/). We were lucky enough to catch him before he cancelled the rest of his 2014 tour. Had to be helped out to the stage, but then utterly demolished the house. Always kind to new artists (and bringing relatively unknowns with him on tour), and gracious to the audience—he’d stay on stage after performances just to talk to whoever stuck around. A true legend. I fixed the title. B.B. was great. I saw him at the Count Basie in Red Bank, NJ. Such a showman. Great guitarist of course. ---

And here I was hoping the new title would be along the lines “The Thrill Lingers On: :B.B. King, still dead in 2023”. ---

> [@Si\_Amigo](#): > > [He died in 2015.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.B._King) About 2 weeks after Ben E. King. It was confusing at the time for a lot of people. ---

This is what I get for posting off my feed as I am headed out the door for a weekend in Vegas. Mea culpa!
