I’d like to nominate [Children’s Book Titles You Are Unlikely To See](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=332600) . I just think it’s one of the funniest threads, and that we collectively excelled ourselves in terms of wit, creativity, imagination and wicked, mischievous humour. ---

A fairly ordinary thread until the appearance of **NYNJVATXPA** , arguably the stupidest, most mule-headed poster ever in _comments on staff reports_. Worth checking out. ---

Well, I’ve only been here a couple of months, so I’m a bit green to nominate a “best of” anything, but having said that… I was rather proud of the way [Urban Renewal – WTF??](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=6674894#post6674894) developed. What I started as a semi-rant was picked up and expounded upon in a series of great posts by some regulars, **Exapno Mapcase** key among them. It developed into a truly memorable thread, for me at least. ---

Am I the first to mention the [Guy Stuff](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=18972) thread? And our growing repository of computer-geek mutual support: [Have a Computer Question? Read this first](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=260053) Distant precedessor to other Lord of the Rings threads to come, the hot Great Debates topic of its day was once [Should the LOTR movies be made?](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=21835) My favorite thread on the board vaporized at some point (and it wasn’t part of the Winter of our Missed Content, either, it just vanished on its own). **Coldfire** set up **Mullinator** to write love-letters to any female doper who posted a request in the form “Do me, mully, do me!!!”. I don’t know why it amused me so much, but it did…I gather that it was **Coldfire** making **Mully** make good on something he’d said in passing in some other context, since he later posted “You’re as good as your word”…in the mean time, a couple dopers obligingly signed up, the resultant letters were quite good, and on very short notice there was a long long waiting list 🙂 ---
