They were hesitating at first to even say that he was killed by police action, saying initially that ‘he was found dead on the ground’ after exiting the flat. Now the prosecutor is saying in press conference that he was shot in the head by the response squad in self defence. ---

I must have heard it wrong. I heard he sprung out of the bathroom shooting & dived out of the balcony window still shooting, only to die from his fall to the street below. But, if he was going for a John Woo ending, doesn’t it lose something if his pants were around his knees & he had a Charmin trailer…? ---

I’m still trying to figure out the ‘prosecuting judges’ here. I do know they desperately wanted him alive, as he’d said to expect some further big actions in Paris, Lyon, Marsailles and again in Toulouse. So they have no idea if he was really alone or working with a larger cell. ---

I swear I heard on NPR that his leap out of the window was all over live TV, but I haven’t seen that footage being glorified in the media as these things tend to be. ---

There’s two people, actually: the person who heads the research team is a judge (who btw must have a law degree), the person who presents it to the tribunal is a different person (who must also have a law degree but is not a judge). The research judge and the judging judge(s) must be different ones. ---

Unlikely- at least from an official source. They press was kept back at such a distance and angle that they could only see the top of the building. The rest of the street was pretty well blocked off with vans/cars belongingto the police. That said, you could hear the gunfire on the news reports. ---
