Charlottesvile is in Virginia, the inappropriately proud former capitol of the Confederacy. Charlotte is in North Carolina, one of the inexplicably proud sources of cannon fodder for generals from Virginia. Let’s try to keep it straight, kids. :mad: ---

OP is calling the state the capital, not the city. But I don’t think we typically use the word like that. ---

Couldn’t call it the home, because that’s SC, another source of cannon fodder. Not that Virginia didn’t provide some men for her generals to get killed. OTOH, I just sometimes get capital and capitol mixed up, especially when I’m Pittin’ Mad. ---

A few days back I was listening to the Sean Hannity show, when he was reviewing a series of supposed outrages. He read some sort of report claiming that maybe (no real evidence was given, just speculation) paid protesters had been recruited for Charlottesville. But then he noticed that the report was for Charlotte, not Charlottesville. After noticing that it was actually Charlotte, instead of admitting a mistake, he just ominously added “Anyway, this bears looking into.” ---
