The phalanx of Secret Service would have wrestled Don into the car and sped him to safety, and he knows it, so he can talk big BS. He’s being a damn middle schooler with action hero fantasies — because that IS what he’s saying essentially, that the solution to crime is to have some Captain Testosterone type swoop in and physically confront the criminal mid-crime. Much easier than addressing mental health or secure schools or gun control or reporting threats or involuntary committal or whatever. ---
