More truly stupid than great, but the [colander thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=602719) changed my views on kitchen equipment forever. It starts off as an average pit but then somehow transcends into 10 pages of awful colander-as-a-basis-for-wealth-and-privilege jokes.
