Because all the vote-suppression tactics and dirty tricks won’t be effective if an announcement is made that Trump won, 472 electoral votes to 66—and an entire nation erupts in laughter, then rage. The win has to be plausible. And if the polls relentlessly put Biden ahead by large margins, the win won’t be plausible. So Barr has to calculate: will announcing indictments of Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Page, and Strzok help Trump in the polls? Will it hurt him? Will it make no difference? . . . … the lot of a corrupt AG is not a carefree one … ---

I think Barr has been preparing since his confirmation to misuse his authority to bend a close election toward Trump, and the Durham investigation has been fundamental to that. Ambassador to the UK (and New York Jets owner/Individual 1 supporter) Woody Johnson is accused by the State Department IG of alienating staff, accusing them of being disloyal and making inappropriate comments that possibly violated employment laws. He is accused of making inappropriate comments on religion, sex and race and threatened staff’s jobs if they disagreed with him. Woody is seen as a bit of a joke in the UK, but to be fair that makes him an appropriate representative of the Trump administration. Unfortunately he _is_ the ambassador, so he’s the guy Britain has to work with. ---

Off topic but of note…anyone who’s ever watched PBS/NPR has probably heard the phrase “made possible by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.” Sounds a lot more gravitas than “Woody”. ---
