Come on, if it wasn’t toxic, it couldn’t kill the virus. Use your head! And if they take enough to kill themselves, then that is a poisoning death, and doesn’t count against the COVID stats. Win-win! ---

Yeah, but it was so ingrained in me that even breathing the fumes could kill you (reinforced by an old Vincent Price movie) that I would hold my breath when I walked by our neighbor’s house with the row of oleanders along the side of their garage. A possibly apocryphal story we were told in elementary school said that a family was on a road trip. They stopped by the side of the road to roast hot dogs, and the sticks they used were from oleanders. And they died. Duh duh duh duuuuuuuh. ---
