I’m genuinely curious: how would they have reached Trump if nuclear missiles were incoming? How is that protocol different from the “oh crap, we have a Twitter disaster on our hands” protocol? I think the House needs to hold hearings. Seriously. ---

I’m sure that there is a handler nearby. He has his SS detail. There are many people that could reach him if need be. The Whitehouse staff didn’t probably didn’t want to reach him through emergency channels though, not for a tweet. ---

**THANK YOU** I said the exact same thing a while back and the general tone of the responses was that I was being unfair and shouldn’t blame the Great Glorious war hero Mueller. But FUCK HIM. and fuck him again for every day that goes by and he fails to speak up and make it right. I sort of get why he didn’t press charges against Don Jr - it would be like kicking a bear in the balls knowing that the bear would just turn around and pardon his large adult cub anyway. But he should’ve made a statement to the effect that even though he wasn’t pressing charges, Don J’s actions gave serious kompromat material to Russia and was a egregious breach of national security. They had no qualms about doing that to Clinton, after all. I suspect Barr has shut down and covered up a whole bunch of crimes stemming from that investigation. The DOJ has been taken over by an organized crime syndicate and Mueller knows everything and has chosen to keep quiet. I’m fucking outraged about this every single day and I’m outraged every time the media buries this story behind the racist retweet of the day - which is just diversion. I wonder if he’ll still keep quiet after McCabe and Comey are arrested. Is the big bad Marine such a pussy that he’ll let them be persecuted in the hope that their blood will save his ass, or will he grow a pair and do the right thing? ---

Actually, unless he is dead and it has passed to his closest successor, he is the only one who can push the button, so don’t reassure yourself with the above. There is some contingency for the president to initiate handing it off for a circumscribed time, like if she (a girl can dream…) was going under anesthesia. Since Trump has declared he is healthiest President ever, no worries there as he is never going to need any medical treatment. As if he would ever willingly surrender any power ever anyway. ---

Collapse of Trump approval polls I follow the [RCP aggregate polling](https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_approval-6179.html) for Trump approval. Better, I think than any one individual poll. It moves up and down over time of course. Trump has been underwater in this pretty much since the beginning of his presidency, something that no other president has managed to accomplish. Something I have noticed over the past while: On March 26 of this year, the spread between approve/disapprove was -2.0, which was pretty much his BEST result since Feb 1, 2017, 12 days after inauguration. Today, it stands at -15.0, the WORST it’s been in over 2 years. It was a remarkable plunge in approval. I’m thinking (hoping) that this bodes for a complete repudiation from more and more Republicans who see him as a liability, rather than an asset. Let’s hope there is a “run on the bank of Trump” so to speak, and the plunge continues. ---
