Thank you for the response. What I was really asking for was a restoration of the ability to use _pretend_ HTML tags, one of which is dammit one of which is DAMMIT! All right, fuck it, one of which is `` \*(and where the fuck did those serifs come from? What’s the workaround for getting these back in Arial?) To do \, use the escape character (backslash, \) before the character you don’t want parsed. \\ to get \ ---

These were my thoughts as well with the added note that so long as they aren’t released and revealed to be a nothing burger, they can pretend that they are damning continue to include them in talking points. “It’s going to be huge! Just wait and see!” ---

Presidents can’t be indicted, 'member? Or charged with anything, even shooting someone on Fifth Avenue. The Pubs were very, very firm on that point. Yes, I know Biden would only be President-Elect but I’m sure they would not go back on their word. ---

Not that I want to defend this, but I will say that there are a lot of narrative stories featuring someone traveling by plane which features the same shots, in the same sequence. It’s just how the process goes: You board the plane. It takes off. It flies. It lands. You get off. Sometimes the dog whistle is just the dog. (I don’t know what I mean by that, but it sounded good when it came to mind.) ---

So according to WaPo, Pompeo says he has Hillary Clinton’s “lost emails” and is going to release them any day now. Oh, no. According to [this doozy of a thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/i-have-changed-my-mind-about-the-clinton-email-scandal-and-so-should-you/750514) (especially when read in retrospect), having these 30,000 CLASSIFIED emails stolen like this was severely damaging to US relations and, for many people, a disqualifying action though it was never proven that (a) the emails had anything sensitive to them and (b) they were not even proven to have been stolen.
