And now [Pompeo is quarantining](https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/16/politics/pompeo-quarantining-covid/index.html) after being exposed to Covid. I guess this is why he did not attend his own covid-super spreading event yesterday. I heard that 900 invitations were sent, 60 said they were coming and only 30 showed up. ---

Saw some of the photos from the event. Looked like families with young children were there, dressed in their finest. It’s nice that they got a holiday party to go to at least; hope they survive. And hope they’re not scarred for life because their parents are part of this administration. ---

For any incoming Biden staff - they should just assume that their Trump administration counterparts are Covid-exposed and avoid any in-person meetings with them. The whole Trump administration is diseased. I did read that Biden has ordered a deep cleaning and disinfecting of the entire White House. Good idea. ---

Just to clarify, I realize there’s a world of difference between the forces that pulled Yugoslavia apart and what’s happening in the US now - not in any way saying it’s the same. But different the nationalist and extremist rhetoric coming from some of the rank-and-file politicians has some similar hallmarks. The polarization has some similarities. The history is what made Yugoslavia so toxic in a way that can’t be replicated just anywhere. ---
