For example, Trump’s pardon of Susan B Anthony last summer went about as well as everything Trump does, a blatant attempt to court the women’s vote that pissed off pretty much anyone who knew anything about Anthony, but the pardon was legal. ---

Also worth pointing out that “rioting” in the District is a felony charge, also punishable with extended imprisonment. If they’re dumb enough to burn shit and tear gas people, then that could mean an extended stay. ---

It just goes to show how bad Trump is with the whole coup thing: the DC Police is not in his corner. The first thing you want to do if you want to seize control of the capital is to make sure that you have the local police/guard/militia in your pocket. Trump didn’t bother to do that. This is somewhat reassuring. ---
