When nothing happens on March 4, this will be PROOF POSITIVE for the insane followers that the conspiracy theory is real. I mean, the conspiracy stopped the glorious leader from taking over on March 4!!! What more proof do you need, sheeple?!

They will simply move on to the next date, or nutty theory. The complete and utter failure of their predictions will not shake a belief that has no basis in reality in the first place.

Yep. Trump Delusion is the new religion. Think about it. Days of reckoning, days of apocalypse and they even give their money to a “god” who will never, ever do anything for them in return. 😁

Sigh. The trump clusterfuck will never be over. The administration, yes, the CF, no. When this thread reaches 10K, the mods can change the name to Part Trois, Part Quatre, Part Cinq… all the way to Part Cent. Or until he dies, whichever comes first.

Let’s face it, what else does he have to do with his time. You can only play so much golf.

I’ve been saying for years that the Republicans had better stop trying to govern by executive order because eventually the Democrats would start doing the same. And here it is. And the Republican snowflakes are having a meltdown over it.

[The Arizona Legislature has introduced a bill to give the legislature](https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/arizona-gop-lawmaker-introduces-bill-give-legislature-power-toss-out-n1256097) - not the voters! - the power to pick electors.

So the delusion isn’t going away.

Why not cut through all the bullshit and just declare that all electors must be Republican or they don’t count? What, too obvious?

Someone in my twitter feed pointed out this pearl from the Arizona bill:

> ANY PARTY TO AN ELECTION CONTEST MAY REQUEST A JURY TRIAL, WHICH SHALL BE GRANTED AND TRIED AS OTHER JURY TRIALS IN A CIVIL ACTION, EXCEPT THAT THE STATUTORY PROVISIONS FOR ELECTION CONTESTS PREVAIL OVER ANY CONFLICTING RULES OF PROCEDURE FOR JURY TRIALS. IN AN ELECTION CONTEST JURY TRIAL, A COURT MAY NOT GRANT A MOTION TO DISMISS OR A MOTION FOR SUMMARY JUDGMENT THAT WOULD RESULT IN DISMISSAL UNTIL AFTER THE JURY HAS ISSUED ITS VERDICT.

Yeah, let’s decide elections by jury trials and take away judges’ power to dismiss a challenge as frivolous. That’s seems like it couldn’t cause any issues …

You are, I’m pretty sure, completely wrong here. The constitution embodies the power to select electors with the state legislature. Just because all states currently use the popular vote to allocate them doesn’t mean they can’t change that with a new law.

In fact, at first many states had the legislature select electors. (Senators were also selected by the legislature, not by popular vote.) It wasn’t until the early 1800s that most states moved to the popular vote, and South Carolina held out until the Civil War. The founding fathers didn’t have that much faith in the electorate.
