Criminy. I tried to read that “press conference” transcript and even with skimming had to bail out after a few minutes because my brain cells were refusing to go on – the ones that weren’t trying to flee down my spine and out my ears, or huddled whimpering in my sinuses. I pity the poor transcriptionist who had to process that garbage. ---

Same philosophy here. I pay for online subscriptions to the Washington Post and Boston Globe as well as a [one-man local paper](http://thelocalne.ws/) covering my town. I also pay for an ad-free subscription to Raw Story just for the fun of reading their savagely snarky partisan stories without the tide of ads overwhelming the experience. ---

Because he’s already threatened them with funding cuts. Likely an empty threat. Again, the objective is to discredit the CDC and take control of the numbers being reported. Others will step in, like Johns Hopkins and various others who also track this data. But they won’t be the authoritative source like the CDC has been up until this point. _Trump’s HHS Sec is the captain now…_ ---
