The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux

Something about repeating those five words that nobody above has emphasized:

You’re given the five words, asked to repeat them immediately, and not warned that you will be asked again later. Then, in between the first time you’re asked to repeat them and the second time, there are several other questions that require your full attention.

I think the problem to count down from 100 by sevens is there. You need to fully concentrate on that to do it. I think there’s also the question in there where you are read a full sentence and have to repeat it.

You have no chance to rehearse the five words silently in your mind while you’re distracted with those other questions, and you’re not given any reason to think you should anyway.

I don’t know if I could repeat the five words after all that distraction.

And it shows…

You know, Stone and Ailes have only been a part of conservative Republican politics since Nixon, so I can understand why you don’t recognize them.
I also can now dismiss any opinions you have about politics because, as you said, you barely have any idea what’s going on.

I mean…Why are you here?

A month and a half between these similar posts, and yet you still have a need to impress us with your ignorance.

Remember: the Dope never forgets. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Or something like that.

[The new board is frustrating because my old ignore list didn’t carry over, so I’ve got to put them on there one. at. a. time.]

You bunch a dad gum elitists!!!

I guess one of the prerequisites to fighting ignorance is identifying it, amirite?

Oh, man, I thought that seemed very familiar…

He not only opened his mouth to remove all doubt, he did so twice!

No big surprise here:

According to two people familiar with his reaction, Trump was fuming over Esper’s carefully worded memo that did not mention the flag by name, but effectively banned it from being flown on military installations by not naming it.

Trump has declined to denounce the Confederate flag in recent weeks and has instead said those who see it as a source of pride should be able to continue flying it.

Mitch McConnell now says that any new pandemic relief might take “a few weeks” to put together. What the fuck have he and the rest of his party been doing for the past 3 months??? :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I’m only speculumatin’ here, but I suspect they are biding their time on purpose. It’s about voter disenfranchisement.

Republicans drag their heels, many evictions/foreclosures occur, voters are displaced (mostly those who will vote for Democratic candidates), few will remember to re-register to vote once they’ve managed to land elsewhere.

The cruelty is secondary in this instance, whereas it’s usually the point.

I don’t think that strategy will work out the way they think it will.

I certainly hope so. A few hundred disenfranchised, tens of thousands enraged.

In many places most voter registration and ID changes are through the Department/Bureau of Motor Vehicles… many of which are closed or are on sharply reduced hours. So if you’re evicted or have to move good luck getting that done in a timely manner!

I believe in most places, a person can go directly into their Board of Elections and re-register with a new address. But while they are dealing with such flux in their lives, few will think to do it.

I heard statistics that said as many as 20 million persons may be affected by the evictions. Obviously not all those will be eligible to vote… but if even a quarter of them are, that’s a lot of people.
