AIUI, Snowboarder_Bo is correct. I heard something about this on the radio Tuesday or Thursday, where NPR was interviewing the guy in charge in Georgia. While the audit did include a recount, it wasn’t a ‘recount’ under the law. The legally-defined recount, according to the official, would be a machine recount; and my take was that it would not be as accurate as the recount just completed under the audit.

Anyway, first recount or second recount depends on how you use the terminology and Georgian law.

What Trump would seek to do is to eliminate birthright citizenship (citizenship by fact of being born on US territory) , in clear contradiction to the 14th amendment. Many in the far right have been seeking to do this for years. Their usual gambit is to take the 14th amendment’s reading that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States” and declare that people born in the US, whose parents are not US citizens are “not subject to the juridiction” of the United States (i.e., such as applies to diplomats, etc.). Of course, this has the unfortunate side effect that such people cannot be prosecuted for crimes while they are here (although they can be deported…).

Imagine my shock.

According to wikipedia, Frederick Trump Sr. was naturalised a US citizen in 1892. Fred Trump Jr. was born in New York in 1905. Since his father was a citizen when he was born, the proposed change to birthright citizenship would not affect Fred Trump Jr.

On one hand, I would LOVE to see them destroy the Republican party as it stands today.

On the other, if Trump fans feel even more disenfranchised from the political process, the next step is armed revolt and trying for a new Revolution or Civil War, which would cause a lot of suffering.

I won’t say it’s impossible but given the lack of violence so far I don’t think it’s likely.

They haven’t lost yet. Dear leader is still in office, fighting the good fight.

And still, there are threats of violence, there are groups plotting to kidnap and execute govt officials and leaders.

Once the election has officially been “stolen”, and $45 is being escorted off the premises, that’s when I would expect for their true natures to shine through.

I don’t know. Even the stupidest follower of Dear Leader must realize that once he’s gone, they have no legal cover whatsoever. If they act, it has to be when they think they can get away with it in the end. Without the pardon power out there, they are fucked if they resort to war/terrorism.

This came out today from the Lincoln Project. I’m in Canada and don’t watch much TV anyway, so am curious to know if this ad is airing in the US or is it just for the record.

I call them Publicans, as in tax collectors. They are for the middle class in that function.

I am curious why they show an overlay of a lizard on the last several guys near the end of the video. Just trying to say they are slimy? That is kind of weird especially knowing that the Q people think Democrats are lizard people.
