You know, between the Immigration thing, the Trump Foundation thing, Cohen, the $50b of tariffs against China that Trump just announced, and the bad reviews of the North Korea meeting, I feel like Trump’s on the precipice of becoming a lame-duck President. Yes, he can sink a congressman in the primaries and so no one can directly say anything negative about him, but that only works if there are only a handful of representatives against him and if he can identify who those people are. In groups, or by working quietly, they can all just silently ignore and defuse everything that Trump does. But, fundamentally, he’s just not bringing anything positive to the table and all of the criminal and civil proceedings are finally making their way into the court system and are painting a pretty undeniable picture. No matter how partisan you are, you can’t read the Trump Foundation filing and not come away with the impression that the man is, indeed, incompetent and criminal. And then when you’re asking yourself whether you want that man running a trade war against China? Maybe you won’t speak out publicly, but I think you’re going to know what everyone else in Congress is thinking and you’ll be able to start getting some provisions passed through that block Trump from doing much, without having to make any loud or public statements about it. ---

I went to one of the “Families Belong Together” rallies yesterday, and I’ve contacted my representative and senators. I don’t want to be one of the Germans that watched the trains packed with Jews go by. This is full on Nazi level of evil. I will strive to do more. The entire US should feel shame. It feels weird to be on the same side of an issue as Franklin Graham and the Southern Baptist Convention while being on the opposite side as my sister. My esteem for her has plummeted. “We don’t let felons who are citizens stay with their children. . .” Gah! Can you say false equivalence? ---
