Because the right will do what the right did then - reinvent history, conveniently forget everything the Republicans did to cause the situation, lay the blame on the Democrats (and immingrants and minorities) and keep voting GOP. They’re not even bothering to pay lip service to reality anymore. ---

I think a lot of Trump’s support comes from the middle age and elder generations, which is not to say that he doesn’t have support among younger folks. But it’s the older white population that’s buying into this culture war shit. A lot of these people complain about government welfare but why whine like little bitches the moment they get stiffed on their retirement. And that day is coming now, thanks to Trump’s (and Ryan’s) disastrous tax cut bill. Math is a thing, and it’s going to kick these people in the ass – the rest of us, too, unfortunately. ---
