Watching WH press conference and Sarah Huckabee Sanders saying Trump wants to revoke the security clearances of his critics such as Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Rice, and others. I guess he doesn’t like it when it’s pointed out he has no clothes on. Or any clue. Edited: It’s because they “politicized and monetized” their positions. Another classic Trump projection. ---

Oh just one more trip into Can You Imagine world. Can you imagine if in 2010 Obama had said that he planned on revoking the security clearances of the former CIA Director, DNI, FBI Director, National Security Advisor and others for being critical of his administration? Just imagine the heads exploding on the right. How fast do you think articles of impeachment would have been drawn up? My guess is before he finished uttering the last name in the list. ---

For a couple of American presidential elections I’ve found myself explaining to foreigners that the natural-born citizen requirement makes Madeleine Albright ineligible. The woman still has more brains in her little finger than most world governments around the whole table, and a lot more diplomacy that I’ll be able to use in my whole life. Jesus. What the hell was I thinking? The Twitter-right is already spreading like an infection: “they all lied and leaked and blah blah blah! Why didn’t Trump rip their clearance away when he booted them out the door?” Of course, my next round of rhetoric involved what will happen when the next Democratic president pulls this shit, but my irony-mill has run dry. ---
