However, I’m aware of how this will shift the tax burden away from the rich (and to people who can’t vote yet or aren’t even born). Republican tax proposals have a “heads I win, tails don’t count” aspect to them. Taxes that penalize the rich are unjust and must be corrected; taxes that penalize the poor and working class can stay as they are. If people want to reform taxes, let’s really reform them. Treat capital gains the same as any other income. Have brackets and rates that actually raise enough revenue pay for everything the government spends. ---
