Too late to edit: there’s a reason Ben Wittes described Travel Ban I as “malevolence tempered by incompetence,” not the other way around. I think JohnT’s cautionary note is really important: while Trump may be ridiculous, we can’t forget, as we laugh at him tripping over his own dick, that he is still fucking shit up - or trying to. ---

Re: Trump’s budget. Wasn’t Trump’s whole anti-NATO thing argument that he would force Europe and other US allies should start picking up the slack with regard to military spending, so that we wouldn’t have to spend so much? If so why is he expanding government military spending? ---

A mosque outside of Aleppo, Syria was bombed today during prayers. Estimates of between 40 and 300 people have been killed.
