At this point I think we, along with the media, would save an enormous amount of time and effort by simply flipping the script. Instead of calling out lies, we simply note when something the administration says or writes is in the general vicinity of the truth. The null hypothesis is “a pack of scurrilous, insultingly blatant lies” until positively proven otherwise. If journalists did that they’d have 10 minute long workdays. ---
