Let’s stipulate that Trump is wasting $100 million of taxpayer money by using the military as a political pawn. In a perfect world, where we had a Congress that actually believed in checks and balances, what could be done about this? Is this an impeachable offense in itself? Or does the president have carte blanche to use the military in any way that he “sees fit”? ---

Not even a **perfect** world, but in a **normal** world, the president would listen to experienced and knowledgeable advisors who would tell him it’s a bad idea. ---

What if this caravan is a sneaky diversion, and there is another, _real_ caravan of Canadians bearing down on us from Quebec? Sneaky bastards. We should deploy to the northern border. ---

While visiting Bozeman (which is in Montana), [**CFSG**](https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/11/03/donald-trump-in-montana-barbed-wire-used-properly-can-be-a-beautiful-sight/): _I noticed all that beautiful barbed wire going up today. Barbed wire used properly can be a beautiful sight._ If you click the (breitbart) link, you will see an image of the border area which does _not_ depict “barbed” wire. It is that other stuff. Remember the scene in _The Great Escape_ when Steve McQueen’s character is trying to ride into Switzerland? _That_ stuff. “Barbed” wire is usually not deployed in coils. Is our creep-outedness not on the rise? ---

One type of stabby wire that’s spread out in coils is concertina wire. The coils are connected at intervals so it expands like, well, like a concertina. The image in the story is odd, though. It doesn’t look like wire in the process of being deployed. I wouldn’t think you’d do that with bare hands. It looks like a stock image taken from some other conflict area. Note one of the hands appears to be trying to pass something through the wire. I wonder where it’s from. ---

Reports are saying the Army is laying razor wire along the bank of the Rio Grande. That’s certainly not helpful for the wildlife that crosses that river. ---

Bear in mind that I am not crediting him or his handlers to be subtle enough to make this distinction, because I think that “barbed wire” has been used as a generic term for all kinds of stabby wire, and he was in BZ, which is right on the edge of ranch country, where they can identify with barbed wire, but it might be noted that, in ranch country, barbed wire is used for _controlling **animals** _. Make of that what you will. ---

I saw a news photo of that action. Article reported that the Army was bringing 22 miles of it. Only 1932 miles to go and they will have Trump’s wall (of a sort).
