Sounds like Mark Meadows will probably get the Chief of Staff gig. I suppose that the imminent insanity we can all expect to be thrown into will at least be somewhat ameliorated by the knowledge that Meadows will be regretting his life far more greatly than almost any other person on Earth. ---

I don’t really see how it matters who the Chief of Staff is with this guy. You could put the reincarnated U Thant in there or you could put Tom Sizemore and a pile of meth in there and Trump will just do and say any stupid thing he thinks of. ---

The Presidency, under Kelly, was far more reasonable than it was under Priebus. Now, granted, that could just be a matter that Trump learned more, but I’m pretty doubtful. I think you’re going to be surprised by how much more stupid the Administration can get. Remember, after all, we were spared things like Trump exiting the South Korea trade agreement by Cohn stealing the page off Trump’s desk. Minus some sane people in Trump’s orbit, the bottom is still a lot lower than we’ve seen. ---

I’m surprised Pence doesn’t just step in as CoS. He’s not obligated to do much of anything else, he’s a loyal bootlicker, his fate is already intimately tied to Trump, he’s got governmental executive experience and it’ll give him first-hand West Wing experience. What’s to stop the veep from also serving as presidential CoS? ---

I have to say, this acronym bothers me a bit, because I was frequenting a NG where “CoS” meant “Church of Scientology”. Though, they usually spelt it “Co$” – which, when you think about it … ---
