Did Individual 1 just say that he has built a steel wall along the California-Mexico border because Californians asked for one, even though a steel wall is more expensive than a concrete wall? Where is this alleged wall, what Californians asked for it, and when was it built? ---

He’s using the wall impasse as a strategy to defend himself from the House Congressional Committees. (Note: I’m not entirely sure that it works like that, but I suspect that it throws a wrench in to the system at least.) The Democrats really need to say that 1) they don’t support the wall because they expect Trump to use it as an embezzlement scheme, and 2) they will pass a law where they can arrest those who have ever knowingly employed an Illegal worker (like Trump). ---

Well as usual, it would seem that Trump is uneducated in the matter of what exactly [he has the power to do:](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Emergencies_Act) “The National Emergencies Act (Pub.L. 94–412, 90 Stat. 1255, enacted September 14, 1976, codified at 50 U.S.C. § 1601-1651) is a United States federal law passed to stop open-ended states of national emergency and formalize the power of Congress to provide certain checks and balances on the emergency powers of the President. The Act of Congress imposes certain procedural formalities on the President when invoking such powers. The perceived need for the law arose from the scope and number of laws granting special powers to the executive in times of national emergency.” ETA It looks like this was put in place right after the Nixon debacle, when it became clear that a madman president could inflict damage using the power of a fake “national emergency” ---
