One of my FB friends posted that (a) Trump tweeted an apology to Obama for the whole “wire tapp” thing; and (b) Melania was filing for divorce. April Fools’ I found (b) perfectly plausible; much more so than (a). ---

Damn, I missed a great opportunity for April Fool’s Day. It’s still the 1st here, but not in most of the US, so it would not really be fair. But I could have started a Breaking News thread on Traitor Trump’s assassination, linked to the emerging story, but the link would have been to the Wikipedia entry for April Fool’s Day. But it’s too late now. It’s just as well. I did not want a visit from the Secret Service anyway. ---

Just watched This Week interview Nikki Haley. Nothing but gish gallop. Kept talking about how this administration is “beating up on” Russia, “beating up on” Iran, “beating up on” China and North Korea. Says she keeps hearing how everone in the UN is glad to see the U.S. “winning again”. When asked what concrete actions the U.S. is taking to put pressure on Putin, Assad, Kim… she just kept saying we’re “beating up on” them in the UN. This is who’s representing the U.S. in the U.N. Is she fucking retarded? ---

The state legislature did NOT say that. ONE state legislator said it, in a hearing where lawmakers were discussing a potential state ban on abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy. The [bill](https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislation/BillBook?ga=87&ba=SF471) that they were debating does not make any mention of forcing women to carry a dead fetus to term. A legislator and a legislature are not the same thing. I’m on your side in many of this board’s political debates, and i think that the attempt to restrict abortion rights in Iowa is reprehensible. But it sometimes seems like you’re so obsessed with being the first to post about every political outrage, large or small, that you don’t take the time to actually read your stories, and you end up misrepresenting them. ---
