Remember that old argument that the Republicans will come to regret supporting a national emergency declaration by the president because a future Democratic president will use the same power in the future? Yeah, the GOP [has that covered.](https://www.newsweek.com/king-trump-gop-senators-introduce-new-bill-curbing-emergency-powers-stop-1361192) They are putting forward legislation to limit presidential emergency declarations. But, it specifically won’t affect Trump’s emergency declaration, just the ones that come next, because these guys are hypocrites one and all. ---
