Trump’s family does seem confused about where they are from. Trump previously claimed that his father Fred came from Sweden [(this from his “Art of the Deal” book)](https://nordic.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-told-the-world-he-was-of-swedish-ancestry---but-its-a-lie-2016-8/) Now Trump says his father came from Germany… another lie. It’s not even lying at this point. It’s bullshitting. Everyone knows it’s bullshit, but that’s fine- he’ll just change the variety of bullshit tomorrow. Whatever. The United States is a highly untrustworthy ally at this point. I"m not sure if they will ever retain the trust of other countries. ---

So I watched this press conference Trump held with the Secretary General of NATO today. It was quite the display. One can only feel sorry for Secretary Stoltenberg, stuck up there watching Trump blame everyone else for everything going wrong even though wonderful Republicans, with Trump the most wonderful Republican of all, in charge. ---

Forty, even. I’m not a New Yorker, but I grew up in suburban Connecticut, went to school upstate and lived in Westchester after graduating, so I’ve been aware of Trump for a long time. And it’s been obvious since the 1970s that he was a blowhard. There was the whole nonsense over the Wollman Rink repairs and renovations, for one. ---
