(By contrast, [this article](https://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/17/us/politics/obama-orlando-shooting.html) describes how Obama met the families of the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting, and earlier the families of the children killed at Sandy Hook. He hugged them, listened to them and tried to offer words of condolence. As far as I know, none of this was filmed for use in campaign ads.) ---

If the press had been there the footage would have included a substantial number of the shooting victims whose unvarnished opinions on the guy who motivated the person who shot them might not have made quite so good a campaign ad. ---
