Between March and September, the December memo alleges, the hackers used botnets and porn traffic to transmit viruses, plant bugs and steal data online from Democratic party leadership. Two of the hackers had been “recruited under duress by the FSB” the memo said. **The hackers were paid by the Trump organisation, but were under the control of Vladimir Putin’s presidential administration.** (bolding mine)"\* This is a different memo from the original Steele dossier. Interesting to note John McCain’s involvement and knowledge of all this. ---

To a fault. :rolleyes: I have to say the most disheartening thing to me in this whole jaw-dropping debacle is the extent to which Republicans are willing to overlook _anything_ – including the total dismantle of long-respected practices, to say nothing of the law itself – in order to further their partisan objectives. Dark money has left a big, ugly and perhaps irrevocable mark. Still, I remain in hope that at some point, the weight of the evidence, together with public pressure, will force their hand. If not, there is an opportunity in 2018 to gain Democratic seats in the House, and that might make the difference. ---
