That’s not what’s surprising to me. I can easily accept her not crying about it. What’s surprising is that he knows it, brags about it, and believes that it’s normal and laudable for a wife to not cry over the death of her husbsnd. ---

On the other hand, supposedly she did cry on Election Night, because he won. (She knew that meant that she would be in the spotlight for at least four years as First Lady. Perhaps, too, she realized that she could not divorce him while he was president.) ---
