And some of the scumbags that helped Reagan get away with this are now working hard on Trump’s behalf.

The First Amendment is whatever the courts say it is. And increasingly, as Trump gets to appoint more and more judges, the courts will be ruling somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun.

Countries are big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big they are. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road from Times Square to Central Park, but that’s just peanuts to countries.

Is it me or does Trump sound increasingly like someone who’s suffering from serious cognitive decline? His speeches at his rallies have always had a certain stream of consciousness element to them, but he’s starting to slur - his “ideas” are colliding into each other like atoms.

You are so right. It’s hard to see how he can go from bad to worse, but that’s something Donnie excels at. Vox noted this:

> As House Democrats prepare to vote on articles of impeachment related to his alleged abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, President Donald Trump gave a speech at a campaign rally on Tuesday night in Hershey, Pennsylvania, that highlighted many of the reasons people feel that the country will struggle to withstand another year of this — even in the likely event that the Senate doesn’t end up removing him from office.
>
> Over the course of a more than 90-minute delivery, Trump pushed conspiracy theories and blatant lies, trashed law enforcement officials that aren’t blindly loyal to him, exhibited thuggish tendencies toward protesters, made misogynistic remarks, and demonstrated that he fundamentally misunderstands the Constitution.

> It was one of his most troubling performances in recent memory and served as a stark illustration of just how ugly Trump’s reelection campaign will be.

> “At stake in our present battle is the survival of the American nation itself. We will destroy our country if these people get in,” Trump said.

Reagan and Trump both share the property that they were/are immune to scandal, but the way in which this immunity is manifested is entirely different to the point of being diametrically opposed. Reagan was the teflon president, Any mud that was thrown at him, just slid off, leaving him squeaky clean. Trump on the other hand is the mud monster president. Mud is his entire persona, so any mud that gets thrown at him has no effect except to possibly make him stronger.
