Doesn’t he have anybody in his life who cares enough about him to have him institutionalized for observation and treatment?

But…Guiliani’s not even licensed to practice law in DC. Although watching him try and defend Trump against, say, Kamala Harris would make me consider fund drives and donating blood just so he could _try._

[Maybe he’s renewed it since then, but that seems too sensible for a guy who acts like Rudy.](http://https://urbanmilwaukee.com/2018/06/28/plenty-of-horne-giuliani-cant-practice-law-in-d-c/)

On behalf of…_Donald Trump?!_

Trump is the man over whom these people fawn and gush? Do they really think they’re to get their Yeehawd going in America? They certainly want a theocracy, all right. It’s extraordinary.

That’s because Trump is a cheap attention whore. They give him cheap attention and he makes them “relevant.”

God help us if he starts emulating Putin’s shirtless horseback riding and karate “competitions.” Trump is like a grab bag of dictator tendencies. It’s not like the gold toilet and the outlandish lies weren’t a warning. What a teensy, tiny, weeny, whiny, whimpering, spiteful, meagre excuse for a man he is.

Embarrassed to be a Texan today.

[ **Texas could slam door on new refugees**
_White House ‘opt-in’ policy for states puts final decision in the hands of Gov. Abbott_](http://digital.olivesoftware.com/olive/ODN/SanAntonioExpressNews/shared/ShowArticle.aspx?doc=SAEN%2F2019%2F12%2F27&entity=Ar00107&sk=8710718F&mode=text)

> [@](#):
>
> For years, more refugees have settled in Texas than in any other state.
>
> That now might end.
>
> \*\*Under a new requirement put in place by President Donald Trump, state and local governments must consent in writing before refugees can arrive starting in 2020.
> \*\*
> At least 34 governors have given their approval. Mayors and county leaders in all of Texas’ biggest cities — including San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and Austin — sent letters opting in.
>
> But [Texas] Gov. Greg Abbott, who has led efforts to block Syrian refugees and who withdrew from the federal resettlement program in a largely symbolic move in 2016, has not.
>
> If he doesn’t agree, no refugees could be resettled in the state with government-funded services and support, despite what local authorities may want.
>
> John Wittman, Abbott’s spokesman, didn’t respond to requests for comment.
>
> “Our understanding is that he’s still weighing his options,” said Jen Smyers, director of policy for Church World Service, one of nine national resettlement agencies in the country. “Given its size and the welcome that refugees receive in Texas, and the faith community’s support, and businesses who rely on refugees for workers in agriculture, manufacturing and meatpacking, it certainly would have a sizable impact if Texas were not to continue to resettle refugees.”
>
> The Trump administration has reduced the number of refugees allowed into the country to a record low of 18,000 for 2020 —down from 30,000 in 2019 and an average of 102,000 annually during the program’s peak in the 1980s.
>
> The cuts have forced refugee agencies to close more than 51 resettlement programs and suspend services in 23 states, the Refugee USA Council reports.
>
> The State Department has told the nation’s nine resettlement organizations that it won’t renew contracts in 2020 with all of them, Smyers said.
>
> But Smyers said the administration may have miscalculated when the president issued an executive order adding the opt-in requirement in September, thinking the White House could count on cities and counties, particularly in conservative areas of the country, to reject refugee resettlement.
>
> **“They were likely expecting more officials to say no, but we haven’t seen that yet,” Smyers said. “They have this idea that local people are against refugees or that Republicans are against refugees, but that’s just not the case.”**
> …
>
> In his executive order, Trump said the government “should resettle refugees only in those jurisdictions in which both the state and local governments have consented to receive refugees under the Department of State’s Reception and Placement Program.”
>
> The new process has been chaotic. At first, the State Department told resettlement agencies it would contact mayors and governors to obtain consent.
>
> Then, last month, the department told the groups they would have to request letters from each state and municipality where they planned to place refugees.
>
> Now, agencies are scrambling to obtain opt-in letters and submit them before a Jan. 21 funding deadline.
>
> While many states and counties have yet to respond, **no jurisdiction has definitively said it will not resettle refugees** — although the absence of written consent amounts to the same thing.
> …

My bold.

Would that the rule had been effect when [Friedrich Trump](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_family) came calling (illegally and likely to escape military service, BTW).

So, the grandson of an illegal immigrant is surprised that the country isn’t rallying behind his call to keep out the refugees?? 😕
