If that be true, my guess is that he found out that the usual Juneteenth celebration — which had been cancelled because of the pandemic — was being revived in a smaller format. And he was afraid of being outdrawn. ---

This is the same way Loser Donald always writes His tweets when He realizes that He has to chicken out, but wants to make it sound like it was His idea in the first place and we should all thank Him for His graciousness. The only thing missing is an insinuation that the Fake News has been very “UNFAIR” in insinuating that He, the least racist man who has ever existed, would have even contemplated doing something unflattering to “the blacks”, with whom He has a better relationship than any president ever. ---

[“Trump says Abraham Lincoln ‘did good’ for the Black community but that ‘the end result’ is ‘questionable’“](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/trump-lincoln-did-good-black-community-end-result-questionable-2020-6%3famp) I’m actually giving Trump a pass on this one — he surely meant that racial bias and disparities were (are?) unfinished business for long after emancipation was achieved. But the overall gist, of Trump comparing himself favorably to Lincoln, is of course ridiculous. Especially since he’s actively hurting attempts by Americans to bring us closer to remedying that unfinished business. ---

Giving up his first date choice to appease black people (and others who care about civil rights): #1 signal of weakness to his mouth-breathing base. Was it ever officially announced that the Tulsa rally was also going to be the occasion for delivering the long-awaited\* Steven Miller race relations address? Or are we conflating the two, and it’s just going to be another lock-her-up fake-news russia-russia-russia rally? \*in the sense that a root canal is long-awaited. ---

The HuffPost article quoted someone as saying that trump was asking his people to take a risk. Holy fuck. I’m going to quote everyone’s mother here: _“If your friends asked you to jump off a roof into a burning dumpster, would you do it?”_ Trump can ask all he wants, but every one of these STOOOOPID people is deciding on their own to take the risk. Yes, I blame trump for asking, and I blame them for doing it! STOOOOPID! Unless trump’s new policy is to mobilize the National Guard to go to people’s houses and kidnap their dogs and children, hold them hostage in the basement of a pizza parlor in Tulsa, and force the people at bayonet-point to attend the rally. Which is a distinct possibility. ---
