I’m reminded of a Sr Manager I once had. Len (his real name) was routinely outsmarted by cheese. He had sent out an email to his group reminding the provisioners to be careful with disconnecting DS1s and DS2s (he mistyped “DS3”). After his typo had been pointed out to him, rather than laughing it off, he had to go around with a copy of Newton’s Telecom Dictionary showing everybody that DS2s were really a thing. There were people actually dancing in the aisles when he was caught up in a round of layoffs. Trump is one of those people who is so desperately insecure that he cannot be wrong about one thing… ever. ---

I think he was tweeting, got to “cov” when something distracted him. He put phone in pocket, then pocket dialing did the rest. Didn’t get on Twitter the rest of the night, when got back on, deleted covfefe ---

I think it’s a portmanteau of “coverage” and “feces,” or rather “fe-fe,” this being the term Donald uses when he tells Melania he has to make poopy in his big-boy gold potty. But you’re right, even “despite the negative press cover-POOP-age,” in isolation, still doesn’t make any sense. ---
