There’s a mixed form of capitalism that has worked well for a lot of people in a lot of countries over the past 50-80 years, and then there’s the other kind of cut-throat capitalism that tea party types and Trumpists believe in. In the latter type, capitalism is a zero-sum game of winners and losers, of survival or death. And if you get scammed by a predatory lender, well, that’s just too bad - they’re the smart ones and you’re the dumb one. And you’re just not fit for survival. ---
